The second edition of “Wolf in the Net” has concluded.”
In a world where technology and access to the Net are an integral part of daily life, To educate students, teachers and families in the conscious and responsible use of digital has become an indispensable educational goal. It is with this vision that the Alexandria Savings Bank Foundation conceived and launched the project “The Wolf in the Net”, an initiative aimed at providing concrete tools to address the challenges of cybersecurity, cyberbullying and digital dynamics.

Origins and goals of the “Wolf in the Net” project.”
Presented in the historic setting of Palatium Vetus in Alexandria, “The Wolf in the Net” was born as a digital education pilot project with the aim of raising awareness and training students, teachers and families on the main risks and opportunities offered by the online ecosystem. The initiative is part of the training and digital citizenship activities promoted by the Foundation For schools of all grades in the province of Alexandria.
The project was designed based on statistical data showing that a large segment of young people have already experienced forms of bullying or cyberbullying and that digital awareness is critical to preventing negative consequences such as isolation, social anxiety, or discomfort of various kinds.
The main objectives include:
- Promoting a responsible and safe digital culture
- Preventing cyberbullying, online scams and misuse of social media
- Provide practical tools for recognizing and managing risks on the Net
- Fostering critical reflection on digital identity and privacy
A structured training for teachers
Before the start of the meetings with students, the Foundation organized a training session intended for teachers at Palatium Vetus, with the aim of equipping teachers with useful knowledge, tools and languages to accompany girls and boys on the digital education journey. This first moment of discussion strengthened the preparation of the teaching staff, creating a shared basis for subsequent interventions in schools.
The feedback gathered from this training module was very positive: teachers appreciated the quality of the content and the richness of the tools offered, highlighting how the experience broadened their ability to deal with complex issues such as cybersecurity and cyberbullying prevention in the everyday context of the school.
Direct involvement in schools
La second phase of the project saw direct entry into the classrooms of three institutions in the province:
- The Carretta Comprehensive Institute of Spinetta Marengo.
- L'Umberto Eco Institute of Higher Education of Alexandria
- The Paolo and Rita Borsellino Comprehensive Institute of Valenza.
In these meetings, middle school and high school students participated in interactive training sessions, workshops, educational game activities, and moments of collective reflection. The hands-on and engaging approach was highly rated: It was not easy to keep 13-, 14- and 15-year-old teenagers for the entire morning, but precisely because of the strong interactive and playful component many classes were deeply involved in the learning journey.
Speakers and experts at the center of the experience
A highly valuable element of the project was the involvement of outside experts, who enriched the meetings with specialized expertise as well as accessible and engaging languages. Among the keynote speakers:
- Nino D'Amico, CTO of HRC Srl, a cybersecurity expert, who provided technical perspectives and tools for recognizing digital threats and risky behaviors
- Marco Mazzaglia, a professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin and a specialist in game thinking, which showed how play can be a powerful educational tool for promoting critical-analytical awareness
- Alberto Rossetti, psychologist, who accompanied students in reflections on the emotional and social dynamics related to the use of technology
These interventions made the meetings rich in content, balancing theoretical, practical and experiential aspects, and fostering an open dialogue with the school audience.
Innovative teaching methodologies
One of the most appreciated features of the project was. The adoption of unconventional teaching methodologies, based on:
- recreational activities
- simulations and educational games
- digital storytelling
- interactive quizzes and e-learning tools
These tools stimulated students not only to understand concepts related to online safety, but to reflect on how these issues are intertwined with their daily experiences of using technology.
Feedback and impact
Comments from the teachers involved emphasize the level of participation, the effectiveness of the experts' communication strategies, and the usefulness of the teaching materials provided. Many teachers stated their intention to take up the topics covered in the classes and integrate them into the civics curriculum, emphasizing the added value of a hands-on, collaborative instructional approach.
Future Perspectives
After the conclusion of the second phase, with a substantial response of interest and engagement, the project will continue with a third session starting, which aims to further extend the involvement of the school community and strengthen the network of participating institutions.
As part of its philanthropy and educational innovation activities, the Alexandria Savings Bank Foundation continues to invest in initiatives such as this one, which not only address the emerging needs of digital society but also promote A culture of online responsibility, respect, and awareness.
